drop off
Please be on time for your appointment, as our schedule is disrupted if a client is late. We have the right to re-book an appointment if a client is more than 15mins late. We appreciate a courtesy call if you happen to be running late, as we understand things can happen.
cancellations
You will also receive a text reminder two days prior for you to reply. Please let us know at least 24hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer an appointment to another client. There will be a 50% cancellation fee if you cancel within less than 24hours. This also applies to missed appointments where you haven’t notified us.
pick-up
Prior to your dog being ready, you will receive a text 30mins beforehand to give you time to prepare. We do not have the facility to keep dogs longer than the intended grooming session. If your dog is not picked up within 30 mins of the time given to you, there will be a late pick up fee.
Please do not show up early for pick up, as Little Cottage Dog Grooming is a residential address and this will disrupt the grooming process.
safety
We prioritise the highest level of care at Little Cottage Dog Grooming, and our goal is to keep your dogs safe and stress-free. This is where our Safety Policy comes in. Although accidents are extremely rare, grooming equipment is sharp, and accidents can occasionally happen when working with dogs.
The safety and comfort of your pet is our first priority. In the unlikely event that an accident occurs, you will be alerted. If we believe the situation is critical and you are unavailable, we will seek immediate veterinary care at the nearest vet clinic or the vet clinic you have nominated in the New Client Form.
Your dog/s safety is our top priority and at any time we reserve the right to refuse/suspend any grooming services, if we declare it’s unsafe to continue grooming, for example if your dog is too stressed, anxious or aggressive. You will be charged a grooming fee for what was done up until that point.
matting
Too long an interval between grooming and not adequate brushing can lead to your dog being matted. Matting can be hard to remove and may result in a short shave for the health and comfort of your dog, or short shaved areas. Due to matts being close to the skin, densely matted coats may result in nicks, abrasions and irritations.
Matting will incur an additional fee from $15, as it’s time intensive.
additional charges
Our prices are based on 4-8 week maintenance grooms, and prices may vary. Extra charges will be added for difficult dogs, if your dog has fleas, de-matting, mud/faeces, females in season, late pick up and drop off, and late cancellations.
social media
By booking in to our salon, you agree for photos and/or videos to be posted onto our socials unless stated otherwise. The majority of our clients are happy to see their dogs in our postings, however, we understand if you do not wish to have your dog/s posted on our socials. Please let us know, we will respect your dog’s privacy.
liability
While every precaution is taken, Little Cottage Dog Grooming will not be held responsible for:
Injury, illness, or death resulting from pre-existing conditions
Any damage to property caused by your dog
Customers are solely responsible for their dog’s behaviour and any harm they cause. You acknowledge that grooming carries inherent risks and release Little Cottage Dog Grooming from all claims except those arising from proven negligence.
We will not be liable for any costs (vet related or otherwise) arising from:
Pre-existing medical conditions
Matted coats that may have resulted in clipper, rash, nicks or the exposure of pre-existing sores or hot spots.
health and vaccinations
All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations from a licensed vet. Puppies must have received their C5 vaccination 10 days prior to attending their appointment. Little Cottage Dog Grooming will not be held liable for any related costs due to illness of unvaccinated dogs.
If fleas are found during grooming, there will be a salon sterilisation cost added. If any dogs are showing signs of illness (e.g. coughing, vomiting) grooming will be suspended.
Customers must disclose any medical conditions, stress-related issues, allergies, behavioural issues, recent surgery, current medication or prior injuries.
privacy
We respect your privacy and will only collect personal information necessary to provide our services. All client and dog details are kept confidential and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and NSW privacy Laws.
governing law
These terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the jurisdiction of NSW courts. No court proceedings will be commenced prior to the completion of a mediation with an independent mediator.
By booking or attending an appointment with Little Cottage Dog Grooming, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
